All flights between Australia and Bangkok utilise the new Suvarnabhumi airport (all Perth flights including those via Phuket terminate /originate at the new airport).
Bangkok is the regional hub for aviation. The biggest civil engineering project ever undertaken in Thailand, approximately five times larger than Don Muang Airport, Suvarnabhumi has
the potential to handle some 100 million passengers a year and accommodate the latest A380 aircraft.
• Pronounced Su-Wan-Na-Poom, the airport has a capacity of handling 76 flights per hour, a total of 45 million passengers per year and 3 million tonnes of cargo per year.
• 51 departure gates and 68 remote parking spots.
• 10 check-in islands with 460 check-in counters.
• Dedicated First and Business Class check-in areas with
separate entrances. First Class passengers have curbside baggage check-in and are escorted to the First Class lounge for further formalities.
• There are a total of 8 airside lounges for First Class and Royal Silk passengers.
• Star Alliance airlines departures in same concourses with a dedicated Star Alliance ticket counter.
• A Spa Lounge for First Class passengers containing spa suites, sauna and steam room, gym and yoga room and health food and beverage corner. Neck and shoulder traditional Thai massage are available. A fee applies to Royal Silk passengers wishing to
use this lounge.
• THAI has two separate ticket offices located on level 4 of the terminal building. The first ticket office is directly behind check-in row E-F and the second office behind check-in row B.
