The THAI 'Royal Silk' experience will begin the moment you make a reservation and continue throughout the journey until you arrive 'Smooth as silk' and invigorated at your destination. THAI's Royal Silk (business) Class is more than a concept, it's a promise of unparalleled service, with unique THAI touches both on the ground and in the air.

Individual check-in at all airports with lounge invitation to either a THAI lounge or a designated lounge will ensure an even more personal and relaxed experience. All passengers travelling in Royal Silk (business) Class will have their luggage tagged as 'Priority'. For the ultimate in service there is the VIP treatment experienced at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport, where THAI's Royal Silk Class passengers are welcomed kerbside to a world of new experiences.

From the moment Royal Silk Class travellers enter the airport, a feeling of privilege is cast over these premium customers. Luggage is taken by special porters to the dedicated Royal Silk Business Class check-in area. The check-in area gives a feeling of relaxed efficiency with a welcoming ottoman to relax during the check-in process. Once check-on formalities are finalised, travellers then access the fast-track VIP immigration area with direct access to any one of THAI's many lounges within the airside area. Royal Silk Class passengers are welcome to the Royal Orchid Spa lounge on concourse D to experience an invigorating neck and shoulder or leg and foot massage.

All lounges provide full facilities for relaxation, refreshment, work, internet and e-mail access, private office and meeting rooms.

On board, THAI's Royal Silk Class ensures maximum privacy in luxurious shell chairs in which to stretch out, rest, work or be entertained. Royal Silk Class seating is featured on the refurbished Boeing 747-400s and Airbus 340-600/500. Features of the seat include a bed length of 76" (193cm), 60" (152cm) pitch, 167º of recline for sleeping, state-of-the-art entertainment systems which include large format touch-control screens offering a wide selection of films (30 movies, 110 albums of music, 31 games), individual telephones in each seat and power outlets for laptop computers (115V AC).

The new capsule style seating on refurbished Boeing 747-400s

This same capsule style seat is to be found on the Airbus A340-500/600s

Our Boeing B777-200ER and B777-300 aircraft feature the same capsule-style seating and offer a pitch of 61" (155cm) between seats, maximum recline angle of 163° and a bed length of 70" (178cm). Seats feature seat-back LCD screen offering a selection of 30 movies, 110 albums of music and 31 games. Telephones are also available in every seat, together with PC power outlets (110V AC) compatible with all standard PC plugs, so adaptors are not required.

THAI operates Airbus A330-300 aircraft from Perth to Phuket and Bangkok. The seat offers a seat pitch of 58" (147cm) and a recline of 170°. Flights from Melbourne and Brisbane are operated by Boeing 777 aircraft whilst Airbus A340-600 aircraft are used on all non-stop flights between Sydney and Bangkok. .
